The exam is a Computer-based format (CBE) at specified exam sites depending on the school at which you are applying.

The computer based format provides you with instant results before you leave the exam site.
While each school's eligibility requirements are different generally the reading score and the math score are the most important. Many schools require 60% or higher for reading and 50% or higher for math.
Results will determine whether you will be selected to attend the school of your choice.

Costs are minimal usually $25 for taking all categories including the science component.
Registration can be done online and test can be taken several times if the student discovers weak areas that need to be addressed.

The exam is divided into six categories: reading comprehension, test taking, stress level, social interaction and learning style and are generally multiple choice with the reading section requiring reading and then answering questions.

Math questions will relate to decimals, fractions, percentages, number conversions and algebra and calculators are generally not allowed although scratch paper is.

The test can be retaken after a 60 day waiting period with up to two retests permitted from the date of the first test and scores are generally valid for up to two years and can often be used to apply at other schools as well.
