Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse CRRN Exam Information, study tips, study guide and flash cards
The Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse certification program is administered by the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses, www.rehabnurse.org. The CRRN exam is however administered in conjunction with ARN by Castle Worldwide INC, The CRRN program was initiated in 1984 and presently there are about 10,000 certified CRRNs.

Registration
To register, candidates will have to mail completed forms to Castle Worldwide INC. Attention: CRRN Examination, P O Box 570, Morrisville, NC 27560, 919/572-6880
Candidates whose applications were approved (application approval takes approximately 15 days), receive an email with a website link containing information about the exam schedule.
Scheduling the exam date will be based on availability of space at the exam test centers.
The exam is held twice a year in June and December.
The application deadline for exams held in June expires on April 15th and October 15th is the deadline for December registration.
Eligibility
Candidates must posses a valid, current and unrestricted nursing license.
Candidates must have successfully completed one of the following:
Two years experience as a professional nurse in rehabilitation nursing setting within the past five years prior to applying for the exam.
Or, one year as a practice professional rehabilitation nurse and one year of advanced rehabilitation nursing study (beyond BA) within five years prior to applying for the exam.
Exam Fees
The CRRN exam fee is $235 for members of the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses and $340 for non-members.
Exam Format
The Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse exam is made up of 175 multiple-choice questions.
25 of these questions are pre-test questions not used to calculate the final score while 150 questions are actual exam questions.
The total time allotted for the examination is 3 hours.

Legislative, economic, ethical, and legal issues (21%)
Functional health patterns: Theories, physiology, assessment, standards of care, and interventions in individuals with injury, chronic illness, and disability (33%)
The function of the rehabilitation team and community re-entry (35%)
Rehabilitation nursing models and theories (11%)
Other Information
The CRRN certification is valid for five years.
During this time, holders of the certification are required to have accumulated 60 hours in continuing education in rehabilitation nursing and should work for at least 2 years as a rehabilitation nurse.
